Adri (Adriana Jacoba) Pieck was quite unique in the painting world. Not only because she was a woman, but also because in her work she didn't seek to follow any particular stream of art. At a very young age she received drawing lessons from her father, Anton Pieck, who was a drawing teacher and head master of the Amsterdamse school.
